ABOUT FOOTSTEPS
Footsteps is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to creating real, tangible impact in underserved communities.
The work was born out of my relocation community, Ordered Steps — and today, members of Ordered Steps help power Footsteps on the ground through service, support, and community-led action.
Through our work in Soweto, South Africa — in partnership with trusted local organizations and community leaders — we provide direct support to families living in informal settlements while building toward long-term, sustainable solutions.
Every donation is tax-deductible and directly contributes to both immediate relief and future transformation.
Watch the Impact
Our first official benevolence trip to Winnie Mandela Camp was powerful, transparent, and deeply well received. These moments show exactly what direct giving looks like on the ground.
This reel captures toys, hygiene products, new clothes, new shoes, direct cash support, and resources given to the makeshift school and families in the camp.
We believe in showing the impact clearly — not just talking about it. Transparency matters, and so does returning with consistency.

This is the reality many families are living in today. Our mission is to meet immediate needs while building toward long-term solutions that restore dignity and stability.
More than 20 million people in South Africa are still living under corrugated tin roof housing — conditions rooted in a long and complex history of land displacement and inequality.
While progress has been made, the pace of restoration and dignified housing has not met the urgency of the need.
That’s where we come in.
